When you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep your account ID and the email address that provider gives us. When cloud saving is on, we store a copy of what you put in the app as text: your things to do, your chats with Tiny, your sparks (ideas you save), notes, your profile settings, and what Tiny remembers about you (see below). Photos and voice recordings stay on your phone; only text about them (such as a short title, or what you said in a recording) is saved. Anything you mark as sensitive stays on your phone and is not saved to our servers.
To be more helpful over time, Tiny keeps short notes about you, such as your preferences, when you tend to get things done, things you have finished, and what is coming up for you (an interview, a move). They are in About me (tap Tiny at the top of the chat), where you can change or delete them, along with the facts you have told Tiny. On the free plan, Tiny uses and lists only the last 14 days of notes; older ones stay with your data. All notes are included when you export your data, and deleting your account deletes them. Tiny does not keep notes about health conditions, ID or account numbers, or other people’s private matters, and your mood is not stored.
WithTiny uses Claude, made by Anthropic, to write Tiny’s replies. Your words go to Anthropic only when Tiny needs them to write a reply. Our server sends Anthropic only the text needed for each request, and only to get that answer:
Voice recordings and anything marked sensitive are never sent. Our server logs record only the request type, status and timing, not what you wrote.
When you save a link as a spark, or when a link you saved earlier is first shown, our server opens that page once to find the title and picture the page offers (for a video, song or post on a site such as YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Spotify or Pinterest, it asks that site’s public preview service instead). A short link is followed to the page it points to. A link that looks like a one-time link, such as a password reset, sign-in or unsubscribe link, is not opened. This lookup uses no AI: the link is not sent to the AI provider, and our server keeps nothing from the page. If our server finds no title, your iPhone may open the page itself to read its title, as Messages does for a link preview. The title is kept on your phone as the spark’s name, which you can change. The picture is loaded by your phone from the site that holds it. In both cases that site sees the request, as it would if you opened the link.
If something you write to Tiny sounds like you may be in crisis, the app shows ways to reach a person right away (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US). Our server notices this from your message as it answers it; it is not stored or shared with anyone.
If you connect your calendar, your events are read on your phone so Tiny can plan around your day and show your appointments. The titles and times of the next seven days’ events go with your messages to Tiny, as described above. WithTiny never changes your calendar.
With a Pro subscription, WithTiny can keep an eye on plans you have in the next two weeks (a trip, a hike, an event) and tell you when something could affect them, such as a storm warning or a closed road. It is on unless you turn it off in Settings (Keep an eye on my plans). While it is on, your phone sends our server the title, dates and place of those plans, up to three short preferences you chose, your time zone and language, and the token needed to send you a notification.
When a plan is new or changed, and then on the days it is checked (more often as it gets close), Anthropic’s Claude reads its title, dates and place to decide whether it is worth watching and to write a short note. To check, our server searches the web for public information using only the place, the dates and a few fixed words (such as “road closure” or “weather warning”), never your name, your account or the plan’s title. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Apple.
What a daily look found is kept for seven days; a short fingerprint of it (the page address and the event’s name) is kept for 30 days so the same news is not sent twice; a plan is deleted once it is over. Turning plan watch off, ending Pro, or deleting your account deletes all of it.
To see whether WithTiny is working for people, the app counts how many times a day certain things happen, such as opening the app, finishing a step or opening a page. These are only counts, kept under a random ID for your install: never what you wrote or the names of your things. They stay on our server, are not shared with anyone and are not used for advertising, and we keep them for up to 400 days. Deleting everything on your phone, or deleting your account, deletes them.
If you choose Send to the team or Email support, your email app opens with a draft you can read and change before you send it. It holds your Tiny Support conversation (if you were in one) and your app and phone version; nothing is sent unless you send it. When the app runs into an error, it sends us a short technical report (the error message, the screen, the app version and a short code made from your install, not your name or email). These reports never include what you wrote. Crash, error and freeze reports also go to Sentry, the service we use to find and fix bugs: the error and where in the app’s code it happened, the screens opened just before, your phone model and system version, and the app version. They never include your name, your email or what you wrote, and Sentry is set not to keep your IP address.
Payments are handled by Apple. We receive your subscription status, not your payment details.
Apple (sign-in, payments and notifications), Google (sign-in), Anthropic (AI replies), a web search service (only the search words for plan watch, described above), Expo (delivering plan watch notifications), Sentry (crash and error reports), and the cloud company that hosts our server. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
In Settings, choose Delete account. This deletes your account, your sign-in records, your saved data and Tiny’s notes from our server. Recent backup copies of our database may hold it a little longer until newer backups replace them. We keep a record that a trial or subscription was used (without your content) so that a trial cannot be claimed twice. You can also export your data from Help & feedback.
You can view, correct, export and delete your information in the app. If you live in California or another place with privacy rights, you may also ask us by email to see or delete what we hold about you, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
WithTiny is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
